Hello and welcome to my site.       

Years ago during a law school class, I gave up taking notes and started writing about a girl named Mercy coming of age in the Appalachian mountains.  It was an odd choice at the time, but it helped lead me to where I am now---author of The Killing Tree, and my new novel, The Memory Thief.

In writing my books, I've tried to create more than a stack of pages for you to turn. Instead, I hope you find yourself lost up on Crooktop mountain, fighting alongside Mercy under the shadow of The Killing Tree. I hope you sneak along with Angel, through the tobacco fields of The Memory Thief. Most of all, I hope you enjoy your time with these characters as much as I have.
